For those of you a long ways from Long Wave I will tell you that I have three acres and about 600 feet or so of #12 insulated wire on the ground. I do have a matching transformer to bring RF into my SDR radio. I have some interference (not bad) from LED lights at times as well as seeing the local power companies PLC SCADA channels. They very rarely interfer. This is South Texas where I am at and most folks don't think about receiving long waves here. But I do. I can receive all the way up into the VHF on that Loop on Ground. It is relatively low noise. In the winter I can actually hear LW broadcast audio. We lost the big station in England this summer but it is still worth it to come and see other things as well. My loop picks up VLF very well. I have a BCB filter on that loop because nearby WOAI is a 50000 watt blowtorch. I receive 4 NOA broadcast and plenty of short wave stations. I would encourage you to get some wire out and post what you see in this forum.
